Freelancers Meet-Up 2
ITIDA's second Freelancers Meet-Up: an evening in a palace garden for Egypt's freelancers, with a curved wall of screens, a panel in white armchairs, and rows of coloured poufs filling up as the sun went down. We filmed it.

The challenge: one evening, all of it after dark, and a film that keeps the screens, the faces and the old palace behind them clear and warm. It also had to feel like the people in it, freelancers who usually work from their own desks, meeting each other in one place.
We arrived before the guests and filmed the garden empty: the stage lit blue, the seats in rows, the palace façade glowing behind the trees. Then the evening as it filled. Registration at the laptops by the gate, guests stopping for a selfie in front of the stage, the panel, the questions from the floor, and the conversations that carried on after it ended. We kept the camera close to people and let the venue give us the wide shots. Then we edited it into a short event film for ITIDA to share with the freelancers who came, and with the ones it hopes to see at the next edition.
