How Panda works

The idea you approve is the one your guests walk into.

The people who sketch your idea are in the hall when it goes up, and still there when the lights come on.

The short version

On site since 2017.

The first events we ran were in 2017. Panda MEA was registered in February 2019, and the first two roles we filled were operations and camera. Those two still describe us well: on the floor on the day, with a camera pointed at it.

Today the core of the company is a group of people who have done this together for years: events, production, design, logistics, accounts. Around them are carpenters, riggers, sound engineers and camera crews we have worked with for a long time, and we bring in as many as each job needs. When a client asks who is building their stage, we give them a name and a phone number.

On 19 November 2021, Panda organised, designed, built and filmed the StartEgypt Annual Forum 2021 for Flat6Labs at the GrEEK Campus in Cairo, where HRH The Prince of Wales, now HM King Charles III, met the programme’s founders. The build, the carpentry, the photos and the coverage all ran through us, on one plan.

What we sell is simple. What you approved is what turns up on the day, and you know exactly who to call.

How the work moves

Four stages, and the same faces in each.

Every project has its own shape. The order stays the same, and so do the people you talk to.

  1. The first conversation

We ask what the day is for and who it has to work for. A minister’s visit and a staff night ask different things of the same room.

  2. The plan you sign

A concept in 3D, a scope, and a costed plan you can check line by line. You approve things you can picture.

  3. The weeks before

Suppliers, crews, materials, permits and power are booked early, so the last week is for details.

  4. The day, and the handover

One of us is on site from load-in to load-out, and stays with you through the handover and the photos that follow.

Where our time goes

Most of our work happens between the sign-off and the opening.

A design goes from the meeting room to the workshop to the venue, and changes hands a few times on the way. We go with it, so it arrives the way you signed it off.

  1. The meeting room
  2. The approved drawing
  3. The workshop
  4. The venue, on the day

The person who pitched it is still there on the day.

They sit in the production meetings and walk the venue with the crew. Your questions go to someone who was there from the start, and you always know whose job it is.

What it looks like

At the Grand Egyptian Museum, the yellow gate in the render is the gate the guests walked through.

We check materials, finishes and colours against the approved design in the workshop, and again once each piece is standing in the venue.

One person from Panda owns your project before, during, and after the work, from the brief to the handover. You have their number from the start.

Is Panda the right fit?

We do our best work when the idea still needs shaping.

A good working relationship matters as much as the brief. These are the projects where we help most.

  • A day with a lot riding on it, and an idea that is still taking shape.
  • You want the people who design it to be the people who build it.
  • You like quick, direct answers.
  • You want one team close to the work from start to finish.

Start with the project

Start with the day you have in mind.

We will ask useful questions and tell you plainly where we can help.
